The Hellenic Police is participating in the research project titled “DISMANTLE: Improving police response to discrimination racism & tolerance”, funded by the European Commission under the “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme [CERV]” of the European Union.
The project commenced in May 2024 and will run for 24 months. It involves eight (8) partners from four (4) EU Member States (Greece, Cyprus, Germany, and Spain), including law enforcement agencies, research institutions, and NGOs.
The objective of DISMANTLE is to enhance the response of police forces in Greece, Cyprus, Germany, and Spain to issues of discrimination, racism, antisemitism, LGBTIQ+ phobia, and all forms of intolerance. To achieve this, the project focuses on training police personnel, promoting non-discrimination policies, and strengthening cooperation between the police and other organizations that support the rights of vulnerable groups. Furthermore, it aims to build trust between vulnerable groups and the police.
