Hellenic Police participates in the Horizon research project “Using cosmic rays for better, more portable and efficient analysis and detection for customs” with the acronym «Cosmoport».
The project has a duration of 36 months and involves a total of 10 partners, of which five (5) Public Organizations, one (1) Police Authority, two (2) Research Organizations, one (1) Economic Institution and one (1) University.
With this project it is proposed a completely novel, yet highly effective solution for this. The CosmoPort project will develop the next generation of scanner systems using Atmospheric Ray Tomography (ART). Such systems are equipped with advanced Machine Learning-based risk assessment tool.
By participating in this action, Hellenic Police has the opportunity to explore the benefits in the use of this technology by Police Authorities for the more effective performance of their work.
