The ANDROMEDA research project is titled ‘An Enhanced Common Information Sharing Environment for Border Command, Control & Coordination Systems’ and is coordinated by the Hellenic Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy. The project is expected to have an important impact on the control and safety of European Borders, as well as in broadening cross national cooperation.
The project aims to achieve the following goals:
-
Unlock the full potential of CISE ( Common Information Sharing Environment ), by validating for a long period of time CISE-compatible command, control and coordination systems from several Coast and Border Agencies.
-
Further enhance, validate and demonstrate CISE by extending its scope to the Land Surveillance Information Exchange and adapting state-of-the-art command & control systems solutions and associated services.
-
Demonstrate the capacity of full integration of decision support tools in the field of border surveillance and maritime safety (e.g. Search and rescue and safe navigation during control and operation at sea) also considering maritime accidents/disasters.
