Towards thE dataSetS for the European secuRity dAta space for innovation (TESSERA)

The European Security Data Space for Innovation (EU SDSI) is essential for implementing the European Data Strategy in the security field. Its main goal is to ensure Europe’s control over its data and build trust in the use of Artificial Intelligence by law enforcement. In this framework, TESSERA aims to prepare high-quality, large-scale, trusted, and shareable datasets based on real-world operational needs. This will support the European Security Data Space for Innovation. TESSERA will focus on analyzing and defining the requirements to ensure that different datasets can work together and be shared while protecting privacy and fundamental human rights. The project will also outline the detailed architecture for the national components of the European Security Data Space. This includes requirements for user management, data access, and exchange, ensuring these components can connect and function within the broader EU system.

TESSERA is a two-year project funded by the Internal Security Fund (ISF). The project’s consortium consists of seven partners, including law enforcement, research institutions, and industry experts in security and AI, as well as legal and ethical specialists across three EU countries (Bulgaria, Greece, Spain).
